E3 2011 Standouts: Bioshock: Infinite

Infinite is easily my game of the show.

After its original announcement last year I’ve been eating every morsel of information Irrational Games could give me. This is a game that is going to change everything, just as the original Bioshock did. Watch the trailer, and you will see exactly what I’m talking about. There is more emotion in the first 25 seconds than in way too many games nowadays. The relationship between Elizabeth and the player’s character, Booker DeWitt is exciting, especially considering Ken Levine’s approach to storytelling. Reading the previews last week detailing Elizabeth’s ability to open tears into other time-lines threw me way off what I thought the game was, but I knew something weird had to be shown off, I mean, it’s still a Bioshock title.
